Sensex crossed 17K. And there are many who had shorted nifty once sensex reached 16k and many would have again shorted now that it reached 17k.
The trend in the market seems to be following the same manner everyday now. In the early market hours, it showed great strength and rallied up to cross 17k. However, towards the afternoon or mid session, the market saw huge amounts of profit booking. The market bouncing back from that level just confirms our believe that we are in a very strong bull market.
Some mathematics on achieving the figure 17K.
The 30 stock sensex fy08 earning is expected to be around Rs.850. With a P/E multiple of 20, this comes to 17k. With the strength that indian ecomony is showing, a p/e multiple of 20 is fair value and not over priced.
However, you may find some stocks are over priced and some are under performers. These might change in the coming days and some amount of correction in stocks that have run up the most can not be ignored. However, presently the market is looking strong and one can buy with SL.
IT stocks saw a comeback and rallied after many days. This is a result of some positive news flow. However, the proper trend will only be known after the earnings are declared in the coming month.
Rate cut news again arose interest in the banking sector. The realty sector, we believe, will follow the banking sector sooner than later.
Tomorrow is again expected to be a lacklustre trading day,with interest in specific stocks and IT and banking sectors.
Our suggestion for the traders are to trade cleverly with clear SL in place.
