Stocks to watch out today( 24-DEC -07)

THE SENSEX finished the week 4.33% or 868 points lower, while the Nifty was 4.65% down. The mid caps were not spared this time, with the CNX Midcap losing 4.86%. ..

All indices came close to entering intermediate downtrends during the week, but managed to stave off one. The uptrend will end if the Sensex falls below 18886, the Nifty 5676, and the CNX Midcap 8430. The uptrend’s fate will depend on whether the global rally that was developing at the end of the week persists or not. Most major global markets also faced sell-offs, and a majority are in intermediate downtrends. However, a strong rally had started at the end of the week, with the potential to lead to an early intermediate uptrend.

With just three days to go for the expiry of the December contracts in the derivative segment, volatility is expected to rule high. The large build-up in the open interest will exert downward pressure on stock prices. Liquidity too is far from robust; FIIs pulled out close to $1 billion in cash segment in the week gone by.

Our medium term outlook for the index stays positive. The Sensex is in consolidation fase in a band between 18000 and 20500 since October 30. This sideways move is likely to be followed by a break-out to 20942 or 22627. This view will hold good even if the index were to fall to 17800. However, a close below this level will imply that a correction of a larger degree could be in progress.



IFCI stock was beaten after the board's decision not to go ahead with the stake sale.
The price fell sharplyy giving pains to many who were bullishj on the counter , we thanks to our team for our pointed target of 120 rs and booked accordingly. From here on we suggest our readers to book the stock as of noww and one can again buy at lower .but as of noww the stock is in negative bias..

IT is looking good for the coming month and we may see if the rally comes that may be majorily suport by the IT , THe frontlinersw will definately react but the flavour could be mid cap.. as renewed interest is in mid cap thesedays..

According to latest newzz government requested NTPC, BHEL, SAIL, ONGC, IOC, BPCL, HPCL and Gail to issue bonus shares,as their reserves and surplus have increased to several times their paid-up capital.

Reliance likely to acquire a global retail chain soo keep an eye on this too..

SEBI finally opened up short selling to all though the start date is yet to be decided. valuations will come into picture once short selling is allowed.


The support between 5675-5750 seems to be quite strong and there is further support at the 5600 level. The market could easily bounce back to 5950. But it's likely to be stuck within the zone of 5650-5950 until the settlement at least. Volumes are likely to be lower than normal.
